The Prophecy! Many years before Jesus-Tuesday of Holy Week

My song is Love Unknown
My Saviour's Love to me
Love to the Loveless shown
That they might lovely be
O who am I, that for my sake
My Lord should take frail flesh and die?

He came from His blest Throne
Salvation to bestowBut men were strange
And none the long-ed for Christ would know
But O, my friend, my friend indeed
who at my need his life did spend.

Sometimes they strew his way
and his sweet praises sing
resounding all the day
Hosannas to their King
Then 'Crucify'is all their breath
and for his death they thirst and cry.

Here might I stay and sing
no story so divine
Never was love, dear King
Never was grief like thine.
This is my friend
in whose sweet praise I all my days
could gladly spend.

Sam Crossmnan

Look! My servant will prosper, will grow great, will rise to great heights.

As meny were aghast at him-he was so inhumanly disfigured, that he no longer looked like a man, so many nations he will sprinkle. And kings will stand tight lipped in front of him, seeing what had never been told them. They learned what they had not heard before.

Who has given accepted what we have heard, and who has seen in it what the Lord has planned for our salvation. Like a Sapling he grew up before Him,like a root in the dry ground. He had no form or charm to attract us, no beauty to win our hearts. He was despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows, familiar with suffering, one from whom we looked away, as it were, whom we did not respect.

Yet our suffering was His suffering, he was carrying our sorrows ,and while we thought he was being punished and struck with affliction by God, he was actually being wounded by our sins and disobedience, and crushed because of our guilt.

The punishment on us fell on him, and reconciled us to God.
And we are healed by his bruises.

We always go astray like sheep, and we all go off doing our own thing, but God took all our acts of rebellion against him and put them on this scapegoat man. He was ill treated and tortured , but never opened his mouth. He went like a lamb to the slaughter, and like a sheep dumb in front of its shearers, he never opened his mouth'.
From the Prophet Isaiah 53

Mein Lied ist Unbekannte Liebe
Die Liebe meines Retters zu mir
Is Liebe den Lieblosen gezeigt
Das sie lieblich warden
Denn wer bin ich ,Das meinetwegen
Mein Herr schwaches Fleisch
Genommen hat, und gestorben ist?

Er kam zu uns von seinem gesgneten Throne
Um unser Heiland zu werden
Und keine,die nach ihm sehnten
Würden Christ anerkennen
Aber O, mein Freund, Wirklich mein Freund
wem an meiner Notwendigkeit
sein Leben aufwendete.

Manchmal streuen sie seine Wege
und singen süssen Lobgesange
Erschallen den ganzen Tag
ihrem König ‘Hosianna!’
Dann wird ihr ganzer Atem ‘Kreuziget ihn!’
und dursten für seinen Tod und Schmerz

Hier mochte ich bleiben und singen
keine Geschichte so göttlich
nie gab e seine solche Liebe, lieber König
nie gab es eine solche Trauer wie deine.
Er ist mein Freund, in wessem Lob
Ich wurde all meine Tage verbringer.

Incident of a death at Haut de la Garenne,The Beatitudes of Christ

Springtime near St Defryl's Chapel, Upper Cwmbran

Sugarloaf and Bedesman telling rosary beads at the Priory Church of Our Lady(St Mary)at Abergavenny

There have been accounts of graphic involvement of all sorts of respectable senior figures in recent days involved with this case and its grisly finds. The detective in charge of the case, Lenny Harper, told a newspaper that police were concerned that one incident could have led to the death of a child.

"We have a particularly graphic account of an incident which still causes us concern," he told the newspaper. "We can't say that a person definitely died but if you look at it you have to think there is a strong possibility that the person died. That followed by the fact that this person was never seen again."Officers have reportedly received accounts from former residents of the care home of abuse taking place on seaside trips and of children being forced to watch others being abused.
They also fear, reports the newspaper, that bones could have been removed from the home as recently as five years ago, either accidentally or in a deliberate attempt by perpetrators to cover their tracks."Details from the 'Daily Mail'.

New Claims from Haut de la Garenne!

The pace of the investigation into the sad little story of the gruesome life of some of Jersey's most vulnerable children is increasing . A leading Dorset detective has been sent to Jersey to help local police and provide an independent voice. To date around 160 former residents who stayed there in the 1960s, 70s and 80s have claimed they were chained up, abused and raped at the home.

The home was run in the 1960s by Colin Tilbrook, who later worked for Dorset social services before his death 20 years ago.A Dorset woman has claimed he raped her and at least one allegation has been made that he abused children in the Jersey home
At least 40 suspects have been identified, some of whom are now dead.

Police teams are currently monitoring ports and airports in case any suspects still living on the island attempt to leave.Detectives are now working their way through a list of former residents who witnesses have said went missing or ran away over the years. The abuse inquiry began a year ago but has only recently been made public.

Officers have travelled as far as Australia and Thailand to interview witnesses.

It is not known how long the Dorset officer will be involved in the inquiry. Inquiries to reveal the age of the child's skull alone are expected to take several weeks.
If anything was needed to prove the existance of evil under such respectability, this is it. God's blessing on all those in its power and peace in their lives.A good start. anyway to getting some kind of closure. Bless all those with flashbacks and who have been scarred by these people.

The BBC have been busy rewriting the Gospel again.Jesus said 'Ot would have been better for that man if he had not been born' in tonight's episode he says 'I'm sorry Judas'-is this dramatic license? Jesus lacked any sort of warmth either. I thought the Time Life 'Jesus' was better. You always had the feeling he really cared for people.-which he did.

Still praying for the return of little Madeleine McCann, that the Easter Season will return her too to her real life with her parents.Whoever has kidnapped her should give her back now-this has gone on too long!! Ev xxxx

All Glory Laud and Honour to Thee Redeemer King!!!Palm Sunday is here!

At the beginning of Holy week I would like to send a blessing to all my fellow Christians!May the deep rites and mysteries of the following week deepen the faith of all believers and refresh those who are discouraged. The Mystery of the Mass is a Great One

All glory, laud and honour to thee Redeemer King!
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring!

Thou art the King of Israel
Thou David's royal Son
Who in the Lords Name comest,
The King and Blessed One!

The Company of Angels
Are praising Thee on high
And moral men and all things
Created make reply!

The people of the Hebrews
With palms before thee went
Our prayer and praise and anthems
Before thee we present!

To thee before thy passion
They sang their hymns of praise
To Thee now high,exalted
Our melody we raise!

Thou didst accept their praises
Accept the prayers we bring
Who in all good delightest
Thou good and gracious King!

Hey! What a truly awesome thing we begin again this week! The sight of Jesus and God offering himself up on a platter to be cruelly killed, just so he can show us that we can live after physical death and be with him in Paradise if we believe in his promise to save us from death. This was the death Adam brought into this world. Of course with this comes our pledge to live a Holy life, not easy in this world! Trying to be holy is very difficult at times, but we all try the best we can. How fortunate people to whom has been given the depth of discernment of faith and the work of the Holy Spirit (God's 'worker'in our lives) Also the gift and security of that text:
Lo I am with you always, even to the End of Time.(Last verseof John)
In the Eucharist, and close to your heart!Always.Right from the Start.

Truly, All Glory Laud and Honour to Thee Redeemer (Saviour) King!

Ride on Ride on in Majesty!
Hark, all the tribes Hosannas Cry!
Thy humble beast pursues his road
With palms and scattered garments strowed!(scattered)

Ride on Ride on in Majesty
In lowly pomp ride on to die
O Christ thy triumph now begin
Oer captive death and conquered sin.

Ride on, Ride on in majesty
The winged squadrons of the sky
Look down with sad and wandering yes
To see the approaching Sacrifice!

Ride on ride on in Majesty
In lowly pomp ride on to die
Bow thy meek head to mortal pain
Then take, O God, thy power and reign!

All Praise to you forever and ever!- and thanks! Amen

Happy St Patrick's Day!! One and All!!!

Patrick was born at Bannae Taburniae in the Kingdom of Gwent.
Patrick’s parents were Calphurnius, and Conchessa. The former belonged to a Roman family of high rank and held the office of decurio in Gaul or Britain. Conchessa was a near relative of the great patron of Gaul, St. Martin of Tours. Kilpatrick still retains many memorials of Saint Patrick, and frequent pilgrimages continued far into the Middle Ages to perpetuate there the fame of his sanctity and miracles.

May the good saints protect you
And bless you today
And may troubles ignore you
Each step of the way

In his sixteenth year, Patrick was carried off into captivity by Irish bandits and was sold as a slave to a chieftain , Milchu in Dalriada, a territory of the present county of Antrim in Ireland, where for six years he tended his master's flocks in the valley of the Braid and on the slopes of Slemish, near the modern town of Ballymena. He relates in his "Confessio" that during his captivity while tending the flocks he prayed many times in the day: "the love of God", he added,
‘and His fear increased in me more and more, and the faith grew in me, and the spirit was roused, so that, in a single day, I have said as many as a hundred prayers, and in the night nearly the same, so that whilst in the woods and on the mountain, even before the dawn, I was roused to prayer and felt no hurt from it, whether there was snow or ice or rain; nor was there any slothfulness in me, such as I see now, because the spirit was then fervent within me. (from the Confessions)
In the pathway of God, the six years of Patrick's captivity became a remote preparation for his future life. He learned to speak Irish which later helped him to preach His master Milchu was a Druid, and he learned all about Druidism, information which later helped him preach the Gospel.
He escapes, told by an angel to do so and relates in his "Confessions" that he had to travel about 200 miles; He found a ship ready to set sail back to Wales but was taken captive again, but let go, when Patrick called upon God to save their lives and he did. In a few days he with his family at Gwent, but now his heart was set on devoting himself to the service of God as a priest.. First he went to St. Martin's monastery at Tours.. Next he went to St. Germain atAuxerre put himself under his guidance. Germain looked kindly on the young man and a few years later he became a Catholic priest. When Germain was commissioned by the Holy See to visit Britain to stop the heretical teachings of Pelagius, he chose Patrick to be one of his missionary companions and so Patrick was associated with the representative of Rome in the triumphs that occurred over heresy, and in the many remarkable events of the expedition, such as the miraculous calming of the tempest at sea, the visit to the relics at St. Alban's shrine, and the Alleluia victory. Amid all these scenes, however, Patrick's thoughts turned towards Ireland, and from time to time he was favoured with visions of the children from Focluth, by the Western sea, who cried to him: "O holy boy, come back to Erin, and walk once more amongst us."
Pope St. Celestine I, trusted St. Patrick to convert the Irish race into the one fold of Christ. Palladius had already received that commission, but terrified by the fierce opposition of a Wicklow chieftain had abandoned the sacred enterprise. It was St. Germain, Bishop of Auxerre, who commended Patrick to the pope. The writer of St. Germain's Life in the ninth century, Heric of Auxerre, thus attests this important fact: "Since the glory of the father shines in the training of the children, of the many sons in Christ whom St. Germain is believed to have had as disciples in religion, let it suffice to make mention here, very briefly, of one most famous, Patrick, the special Apostle of the Irish nation, as the record of his work proves. Subject to that most holy discipleship for 18 years, he drank in no little knowledge in Holy Scripture from the stream of so great a well-spring. Germain sent him, accompanied by Segetius, his priest, to Celestine, Pope of Rome, approved of by whose judgement, supported by whose authority, and strengthened by whose blessing, he went on his way to Ireland." It was only shortly before his death that Celestine gave this mission to Ireland's apostle and on that occasion bestowed on him many relics and other spiritual gifts, and gave him the name "Patercius" or "Patritius", not as an honorary title, but as a foreshadowing of the fruitfulness and merit of his apostolate whereby he became pater civium (the father of his people). Patrick on his return journey from Rome received at Ivrea the tidings of the death of Palladius, and turning aside to the neighboring city of Turin received episcopal consecration at the hands of its great bishop, St. Maximus, and thence hastened on to Auxerre to make under the guidance of St. Germain due preparations for the Irish mission.
It was probably in the summer months of the year 433, that Patrick and his companions landed at the mouth of the Vantry River close by Wicklow Head. The Druids were at once in arms against him. But Patrick was not disheartened. The intrepid missionary resolved to search out a more friendly territory in which to enter on his mission. The fame of Patrick's marvelous power of miracles preceeded him. Milchu, in a fit of frenzy, gathered his treasures into his mansion and setting it on fire, cast himself into the flames. An ancient record adds: "His pride could not endure the thought of being vanquished by his former slave".
St. Patrick learned that the chieftains of Erin had been summoned to celebrate a special feast at Tara by Leoghaire, the Supreme Monarch of Ireland. This was an opportunity which Patrick would not miss; he decided to go there to strike a hugeblow against the Druidism that held the nation captive, and to secure freedom for the glad the promise od Christ. A chieftain named Secsnen, with his household joyfully embraced the Faith. The youthful Benen, or Benignus, son of the chief, was in a special way captivated by the Gospel doctrines .. Thenceforth Benen was the inseparable companion of the saint, and the prophecy was fulfilled, for Benen is named among the "comhards" or sucessors of St. Patrick in Armagh.
It was on 26 March, Easter Sunday, in 433, that the eventful assembly was to meet at Tara, and the decree went forth that from the preceeding day the fires throughout the kingdom should be extinguished until the signal blaze was kindled at the royal mansion. The chiefs and Brehons came in full numbers and the druids too would muster all their strength to bid defiance to the herald of good tidings and to secure the hold of their superstition on the Celtic race, for their demoniac oracles had announced that the messenger of Christ had come to Erin. St. Patrick arrived at the hill of Slane, at the opposite extremity of the valley from Tara, on Easter Eve, in that year the feast of the Annunciation, and on the summit of the hill kindled the Paschal fire. The druids at once raised their voice. "O King", (they said) "live for ever; this fire, which has been lighted in defiance of the royal edict, will blaze for ever in this land unless it be this very night extinguished." By order of the king and the agency of the druids, repeated attempts were made to extinguish the blessed fire and to punish with death the intruder who had disobeyed the royal command. But the fire was not extinguished and Patrick shielded by the Divine power came unscathed from their snares and assaults. On Easter Day the missionary band having at their head the youth Benignus bearing aloft a copy of the Gospels, and followed by St. Patrick who with mitre and crozier was arrayed in full dress of a Bishop, proceeded in processional order to Tara. The Druids and magicians tried hard to work against him, but the prayer and faith of Patrick achieved a glorious triumph. The Druids spread all over the hill and were covered with a cloud.. Patrick defied them to remove that cloud, and when all their efforts were useless, when he prayed, the sun sent forth its rays and the brightest sunshine lit up the scene. Again by demoniac power the Arch-Druid Lochru, like Simon Magus of old, was lifted up high in the air, but when Patrick knelt in prayer the druid from his flight was dashed to pieces upon a rock.
Finally the Druids were vanquished. Twice Patrick peached the Faith before Leoghaire. The king had given orders that no sign of respect was to be extended to the strangers, but at the first meeting the youthful Erc, a royal page, arose to show him reverence; and at the second, when all the chieftains were assembled, the chief-bard Dubhtach showed the same honour to the saint. Both these heroic men became fervent disciples of the Faith and bright ornaments of the Irish Church. It was on this second solemn occasion that St. Patrick is said to have plucked a shamrock from the sward, to explain by its triple leaf and single stem, in some rough way, to the assembled chieftains, the great doctrine of the Blessed Trinity. On that bright Easter Day, the triumph of religion at Tara was complete. The Ard-Righ granted permission to Patrick to preach the Faith throughout the length and breadth of Erin, and the druidical prophecy like the words of Balaam of old would be fulfilled: the sacred fire now kindled by the saint would never be extinguished.
The beautiful prayer of St. Patrick, popularly known as "St. Patrick's Breast-Plate", is supposed to have been composed by him in preparation for this victory over Paganism. The following is a literal translation from the old Irish text:
I bind to myself today
The strong virtue of the Invocation of the Trinity:
I believe the Trinity in the Unity
The Creator of the Universe.

I bind to myself today
The virtue of the Incarnation of Christ with His Baptism,
The virtue of His crucifixion with His burial,
The virtue of His Resurrection with His Ascension,
The virtue of His coming on the Judgement Day.

I bind to myself today
The virtue of the love of seraphim,
In the obedience of angels,
In the hope of resurrection unto reward,
In prayers of Patriarchs,
In predictions of Prophets,
In preaching of Apostles,
In faith of Confessors,
In purity of holy Virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.

I bind to myself today
The power of Heaven,
The light of the sun,
The brightness of the moon,
The splendour of fire,
The flashing of lightning,
The swiftness of wind,
The depth of sea,
The stability of earth,
The compactness of rocks.

I bind to myself today
God's Power to guide me,
God's Might to uphold me,
God's Wisdom to teach me,
God's Eye to watch over me,
God's Ear to hear me,
God's Word to give me speech,
God's Hand to guide me,
God's Way to lie before me,
God's Shield to shelter me,
God's Host to secure me,
Against the snares of demons,
Against the seductions of vices,
Against the lusts of nature,
Against everyone who meditates injury to me,
Whether far or near,
Whether few or with many.

I invoke today all these virtues
Against every hostile merciless power
Which may assail my body and my soul,
Against the incantations of false prophets,
Against the black laws of heathenism,
Against the false laws of heresy,
Against the deceits of idolatry,
Against the spells of women, and smiths, and druids,
Against every knowledge that binds the soul of man.

Christ, protect me today
Against every poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against death-wound,
That I may receive abundant reward.

Christ with me, Christ before me,
Christ behind me, Christ within me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ at my right, Christ at my left,
Christ in the fort,
Christ in the chariot seat,
Christ in the poop [deck],
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks to me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

I bind to myself today
The strong virtue of an invocation of the Trinity,
I believe the Trinity in the Unity
The Creator of the Universe.

"God, whom we announce to you, is the Ruler of all things."
"The God of heaven and earth, of the sea and the rivers."
"The God of the sun, and the moon, and all the stars."
"The God of the high mountains and of the low-lying valleys."
"The God who is above heaven, and in heaven, and under heaven."
"His dwelling is in heaven and earth, and the sea, and all therein."
"He gives breath to all."
"He gives life to all."
"He is over all."
"He upholds all."
"He gives light to the sun."
"He imparts splendour to the moon."
"He has made wells in the dry land, and islands in the ocean."
"He has appointed the stars to serve the greater lights."
"His Son is co-eternal and co-equal with Himself."
"The Son is not younger than the Father."
"And the Father is not older than the Son."
"And the Holy Ghost proceeds from them."
"The Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost are undivided."
"But I desire by Faith to unite you to the Heavenly King, as you are daughters of an earthly king."

St Joseph's Feast Day-Friday 14th March

Corpus Christi Procession at Llantarnam Abbey, 2007
Below Statue of St Joseph and infant Christ outside Llantarnam Abbey, Monmouthshire/Gwent

Today is the Feast Day of St Joseph. He had the special visions from the angel about Mary. It seems he may have been an older widower with children with a strong protective and caring nature. By becoming betrothed to Mary, he saved her from being stoned to death, becing told by the Archangel Gabriel that Mary was carrying the son of God.Mary, a consecrated Virgin, was cared for by him , and indeed his care and protection were fundamental to her safety.Various accounts had him as a carpenter , but today we would probably say joiner or cabinet maker and some scriptures have him working alongside Jesus in the shop.

The second image above is St Joseph with the child Jesus to be found in the front of Llantarnam Abbey in Gwent, between Newport and Cwmbran This Abbey, once Cistercian, belongs to the Sisters of St Joseph of Annecy, and their work in hospice and care homes is a great blessing to thepeople of Monmouthshire. They have various priories around Newport, St Anne's in Malpas, another in Chepstow Road and in Newport. So we wish them a happy Feast Day and also name day of the Faounder St Joseph of Annecy.

From the Eastern Rite Prayer

Verily, Joseph the betrothed, saw clearly in his old age that the prophecies of the Prophets had been fulfilled openly; for he was given strange task,
receiving inspiration from the angels, who cried, Glory to God; for he hath bestowed peace on earth

Update on Shannon, Missing Schoolgirl

The mother of missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews says someone she knows abducted her daughter - and they did it to hurt her.Karen Matthews, 32, a mother-of-seven from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, said: 'She got abducted. That's all I can say.'"Apparently there has been no trace of Shannon-not her swimming costume nothing. She says someone took Shannon to hurt her.

And asked why someone close to her would do it, the mother-of-seven replied: "Just to hurt me, really."Mr Meehan and Mrs Matthews today again insisted he had nothing to do with Shannon's disappearance - as well as claims made by Mrs Matthews' own parents that he had hit the schoolgirl.

Please are avidly continuing their searches.Three weeks after she went missing the these involve more than half the country's specialist search dogs and hundreds of officers.

Organ Blues

I have a problem in that I can't play the organ for Mass on Holy Thursday. I play most Sundays but we are having a break for four days at this time. I have had some traumatic times with that Organ. First, whilst in full flood with Bread of Heaven,a very noisy hymn, a stop came out in my hand as I pulled it out when I was playing, then I could not control the sound. The Kyrie came and it was so quiet as I was only left with the noisiest (trumpets)stops and softest (lieblich) The Principal, when I opened it seemed unpleasntly out of tune-in fact it did not really settle down, since the diapason stop was in my handbag it seemed to be playing up saying 'Ok if he's not working neither am I!!'I forgot he sanctus and a choir member leaned over to me and said 'Hey have you gone on strike?' which I thought was unneccessary really .

Then, to my absolute horror came the Panis Angelicus and Soul of my Saviour-I told the choir to sing up, which they did, however the accompaniment was very weak . It would be better to stop playing and just sing myself. The principal was sounding more and more like the sound track of an old version of the PHantom of the Opera. It did cross my mind what God was thinking about it. Finally I decided on tough love-Love Divine to the Welsh tune Blaenwern-this tune is not in the Hymn book I have but I snitched it out of 'Songs of Praise'. I literally pulled out all the stops! Well! LOUD!!!?? I felt like I was being vibrated on one of those vibrator chairs supposed to relax you, but I assure you it was NOTHING as relaxing as that!!!The sound drilled into my head and yet a horrible determination kept me going through it all! I was going to teach that organ a lesson! However, after I had done my twiddly bit at the end, I was left shaking on the organ stool and the choir put all away and helped me,slowly, down the stairs still shivering down into the hall for a cuppa and a biccie. After appreciating their comforting words and sympathy, I calmed down and gave the unfortunate stop to Father who got a wood turner in the village to fix it. The choir swear the organ is a little gem.....hmmnnn!My husband still laughs about it. It is back in order for Holy Week and the Triduum, but I still feel the trauma . Am seriously thinking of getting them all trained in plainchant so no one has to play!!!That Principal stop has not sorted itself out yet and is still giving me a hard time!! Still a very nice Anglican gentleman is playing for Easter-and-I'll leave it with him, although not many hymns until Saturday Vigil and the bringing of all the candles into the church, following the Easter Candle, one of the loveliest services of the year. The bells ring, a bonfire is lit outside, gadually the lights all go on amidst the singing and psalms Alleluia Alleluia and the loudest music plays.....just as well really......ha ha-just think about when he pulls out all the stops! But being nice, of course, I will warn him of the experience!
